Many pointed out that Microsoft agitated the Windows community, who were confused how they got to the number ‘7′. The company tried to defend the reason behind the decision, but followers are still dissatisfied.

Microsoft explained that the first three releases of Windows were labelled Windows 1.0, Windows 2.0 and Windows 3.0, the fourth was composed of Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE and Windows Millennium.

The fifth Windows family included Windows 2000 which was codenamed 5.0, and Windows XP which was shipped as 5.1. The Windows Vista was version 6.0, The code version numbers had remained in order to keep application compatibility. This is the seventh release of Windows, so therefore Windows 7 just makes sense.

India is the world’s fastest flourishing mobile services market. There were 305 million wireless subscribers at the end of August, behind only China’s about 600 million, with the emerging potential envisioned as large as only 28 out of 100 Indians own a mobile phone.

The telecoms minister said that they are projecting to reevaluate market conditions for a projected auction of radio waves for future generation wireless services, but hopes to start on schedule by December.

When asked whether it was the proper time for the auction, that will be the agenda between him and the finance minister on the next meeting. The government has appointed U.S. bank Rothschild to manage the auction, which they anticipated to see profit from both local and foreign firms. The Government was weighing easy guidelines to allow winning bidders to pay in instalment because of the global liquidity crunch.

Dell is keeping its philosophy of simplifying storage devices for the SMB sector, after it launched the Dell PowerVault DL2000 , an all-in-one system that braces a server, a storage system, as well as backup and recovery software, as a single device.

The PC maker is bringing in some striking claims about the performance of DL2000, verifying that by blending both storage and the backup and recovery system in a single box, it can make out backup times by up to 52 percent and restore times by up to 77 percent compared to tape.

Basically, the DL2000 is a Windows-based x86 server. Users have the pick of employing software from either CommVault or Symantec that will be factory installed on the machine. It also boasts other instruments to help with the setup of the device, which Dell lays claim can be attained in less than half an hour.

the Google Android platform. T-Mobile will begin selling the G1 for $179 with a two-year contract. The device hits U.S. stores Oct. 22 and heads to Britain in November and other European countries early next year. It’s basically an HTC phone so T-Mobile’s $179 + 2 year contract price may lead to a possible unlock price when it goes worldwide.

First things first though, the actual specs of the T-Mobile G1 phone: 3.2 inch touch screen (480×320 pixel resolution), 3G/HSDPA, 2GB internal storage (up to 8GB via microSD), GPS, 3MP camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g, qwerty keyboard

What makes it silent is the actual price of the handset once it transports to other regions but based on the pricing history of previous HTC mobile phones, it might not be pretty: HTC Touch Dual costs ($768), HTC Touch Diamond ($897), HTC Touch Pro ($1,085 ) and most likely HTC Dream G1 Phone somewhere between $768 - $897 just like the

Diamond. So if people got frustrated with the iPhone 3G’s price in the region, no doubt they’ve be more dissapopinted with this one.

let’s take a look at what factors covering this

glaring feature: an

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200

running at 2.53GHz, a single stick of DDR2 800MHz memory (2 slots are available), Integrated GMA 3100 graphics with 128MB (shared with main

memory), 80GB of storage

space, and a DVD writer branded AOpen. These are the chief components; most of the other features are motherboard-derived, which means we have a pretty good list of features courtesy of Intel’s G33. This includes the aforementioned dual memory slots, 2 SATA sockets (unluckily fully occupied by the two storage devices mentioned above), an IDE connector, and 2 USB headers.

Comes in Windows XP or Vista but you can basically install any OS in it. You can hook up the VGA port to your TV in your living-room making the Shuttle D10 an alternative amusement center.

The issue with Shuttle/XPC is that they’re unaffordable at the moment. Local distributors like PC Shack and Qube offers them at a starting price of Php25,599 ($545).
